Per Arnoldi sterlng silver spoon made by Michelsen (Denmark)
Last summer (2024), as I was in Paris, I was lucky enough to stumble upon an amazing flea market in Montmartre.
I came across a rare collection of Danish sterling silver spoons: The Michelsen Christmas spoon collection.
It is a series of 7 annual spoons created by renowned artists and designers, starting in 1910. Each spoon typically features a unique design, reflecting the artist's style and often incorporating themes related to Christmas or Danish culture.
Since they are collector's spoons and were super expensive, I chose and bought one - my favorite one design wise - and by chance, it's the one designed in 1988, one year after I was born!
Michelsen is a renowned Danish silversmith company founded in 1841.
The artist who designed this spoon is Per Arnoldi and was born in 1941 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
His work spans various mediums, including painting, sculpture, and graphic design and is also known for his contributions to architecture and public art.
Arnoldi's work is characterized by a minimalist and modernist approach. His art often features bold, clean lines and vibrant color (see next pics for his work).
This is a very special and rare spoon and only one is available, as is or with your personalized text.
